We all have a narrative — a story that shapes how we show up in the world, the choices we make, and the impact we leave behind. But our stories aren’t linear, and they’re rarely what we expect. Too often, we’re boxed in by stereotypes of what success “should” look like, or told our value is tied to a single role or title.
Hosted by Maryanne Piña and Joe Frodsham, this podcast reveals the real stories behind the pivot — the courage, uncertainty, resilience, and reinvention that come with major career changes. Whether sparked by a layoff, a leadership shift, a personal calling, or a global event, career pivots are the moments that redefine not just our work, but our lives.
In each episode, Maryanne and Joe sit down with leaders from across industries to explore what it truly takes to let go, shift gears, and move forward with purpose. Their conversations go beyond job titles to uncover the lessons, clarity, and strength that emerge when we step into the unknown.
As a podcast powered by CMP — a minority and woman-owned talent and transition firm — American Narratives exists to spark honest conversations about personal and professional transformation. Because behind every pivot is a powerful story. And behind every story is someone finding their way back to themselves.
